Riihikarhu stands on a slope in Muurame, at the edge of the forest. Glass walls bring the landscape inside — snow in winter, green in summer. One building divides into two halves through lockable connecting doors, so you can take one side or both.

One roof, two halves
Karhu A and Karhu B are two halves of the same building, separated by lockable connecting doors on both the lower and the upper floor. A separate outbuilding on the plot holds the wood-fired sauna.

A day at Riihikarhu
Arrival, quiet, departure

Arrival
Check-in from 16:00. The door code arrives in advance, so there is no one to wait for. Parking is at the door.

The first evening
Forest behind the glass. A fire in the stove, and the day begins to go quiet.

Sauna
Steam, a rain shower and the hot tub on the terrace. Four saunas to choose from in the A wing.

Night
A quiet you do not get in a city. Three bedrooms — or five, with the connecting doors open.

Morning
Coffee at the window, the lake behind the trees. Departure by 12:00.

Riihikarhu is in Muurame, nineteen kilometres from Jyväskylä. There are hiking and mountain-biking trails nearby; the landscape is under snow in winter and green in summer.
